This training explores the complementary strengths of EMDR and KAP, showing how EMDR principles such as the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model, resourcing, and target mapping can prepare clients for psychedelic work—and how ketamine deepens trauma reprocessing through somatic, emotional, and transpersonal access.
Deepening Healing: The Interwoven Pathways of EMDR and KAP
Both EMDR and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy access and transform traumatic memory networks, but they do so in different ways. This training shows how EMDR can powerfully support the structure, safety, and sequencing of KAP, while ketamine expands and deepens the reprocessing EMDR makes possible.
Topics include:-
Using EMDR Phase 1–2 for trauma history mapping and ego-state assessment
-
Translating EMDR targets into KAP intentions
-
Enhancing resourcing and stabilization before ketamine work
-
Using KAP to access preverbal, dissociated, or symbolic material
We also explore how KAP mirrors EMDR's core phases, and how ego dissolution allows previously blocked material to surface. Clinical vignettes and practical tools will help clinicians bridge both modalities in ethical, client-centered ways.
